Such an amazing tour with Jamie! She knows every flower, plant and tree along with the whole history of Hana and surrounding area. Her driving skills are excellent and her humor made this an exceptional tour. The gourmet lunch from the local chef was incredible! I highly recommend booking this tour with Jamie!

Soooo much fun with Lenny, he had us cracking up! We took the Hana trip on 6/25. We knew the road was going to make me nervous if we drove it ourselves, so booking the tour was a no brainer. BTW, his driving didn't make me nervous one bit! He was so knowledgeable about the island with dates and stories that kept us hanging on to every word. He was proud and protective of the island and so very passionate. He looked out for our safety and even the safety of others that weren't in our group! By the end of the trip we felt like Ohana and even wanted to hang out with him while on our trip! We didn't of course but we would have! Our 16 year old son and him bonded which was pretty cool. Absolutely the best tour I have ever taken! Jamie was fantastic. She took us on an almost 12 hour tour and we saw everything, learned tons of history, and truly enjoyed her passion for the Hawaiian culture. Company was very well managed, responsive and super easy to work with. Go with this company!

Amazing tour guide, amazing views Taylor was amazing. He was funny, informative and a great driver. He made sure to ask the group periodically if we needed water, food or bathrooms and got us where we needed to be all day. The stops we made were awesome and the views amazing. Highly recommend.

Road to Hana Gorge our guide was so knowledgeable. The sights were breathtaking, the local lunch in Hana was excellent. Would highly suggest you take this tour and not try to drive it yourself.

Will Do This Tour With Louie Again There were too many great experiences on this tour to say any one was my favorite. We were picked up at our resort in Kihei by Charlie who was very entertaining and knowledgeable at the same time. He was recovering from an injury and unable to be our driver for the actual tour, so he took us to a designated spot to meet up with our tour guide Louie and the other passengers. Once we hopped on Louie's van the fun began. Louie made sure there was plenty of cold water, cut up pineapple and home made pastry for all of the passengers.we had more snacks than our stomachs could hold ! Our 1st stop was at a beach where we saw lots of turtles on the beach. Then We made our way to Aunty Sandy's for banana bread and a scenic ocean view. We stopped in the Wailua Valley and saw some stunning views of a waterfall. There were many waterfalls along this tour. We swam under one of the falls. That was a great experience. Our next stop was Hana Gold Chocolate Factory. We bought chocolate that was made fresh that morning. Our next stop was at a black sand beach. The current was rough, but the water was very refreshing. There was a Lava Tube and Blow Hole at this beach as well. For lunch Louie had called ahead and pre ordered Huli Huli Chicken meals for us that had a green salad as well as macaroni salad and bread and cold juice from Uncle Russell's Red Sand Chicken Stand. We also stopped at Kailani's gift shop in Hana where we had the opportunity to buy hand crafted gifts. We drove completely around the Road to Hana when other vans turned around and took their passengers back home by going back along the same areas they had just driven through. Our driver, Louie gave us a real treat by circumnavigating the entire South End of the Island where we could see an area where there had been a huge lava flow. We drove along the coast the entire way back to meet back up with Charlie, who took us back to our resort. We will never forget Louie for his fun personality and as well as his knowledge about the tour.

Excellent trip (ask to have Lin as your driver-guide)! We had an amazing trip with local tour guide Lin/Lynne. She was so generous in sharing her own Hawaiian history as we toured the island. We would definitely recommend you ask for her if you like authentic local history!

Perfect Maui day! Swimming at the black sand beach was a sureal experience. Uncle Louie was so knowledgeable of Hawaiian history and share many stories. He was able to point out the different vegetation along the way. HUGE HUGE HUGE shout out to Uncle Russell!!! Our lunch was absolutely AMAZING!!! Charles and Rhonda do a great job organizing everyone. Mahalo!!!

BEST TOUR EVER Taylor was an amazing tour guide, we were kinda scared being a lesbian couple but he made us feel super welcomed and we had the best time ever! He knew so much information about the land and he’s such a down to earth guy. So many snacks and water were provided, but bring a jacket because it can get chilly in the van. We saw so many waterfalls, but our favorite one was the one we were able to swim in. Beautiful sceneries everywhere on this trip…don’t fall asleep because you might miss an amazing view!

Amazing day on road to Hana Jamie was an amazing tour guide. She was an excellent driver and very informative and friendly. We had a great day. So many beautiful places along the trip. Plenty of places to take pictures. I liked that we did the entire road to Hana. It’s definitely bounce and a bit crazy at times but definitely worth it. Lots of snacks and water and lunch was delicious!

Long day but definitely worth it!!! Aunty Lynn was the best tour guide ever. Very friendly, knowledgeable and informative of everything from history, culture, landmarks, medicinal herbs, etc. She took the time to answer every question and educate the whole group about her rich culture. Our group of 9 all enjoyed the trip but it was enhanced by Aunty Lynn.
It was a long day so be prepared.

Scenic Road to Hana This was a superb tour. Kobey is an excellent driver and tour guide- very personable. We stopped at waterfalls and beaches, parks, with a chance to walk around and experience the sites. Van was comfortable with good views. Lunch and snacks were great with pineapple, banana bread, all local. Five star tour!

Long but fun day My family and I recently booked this tour and we were so happy we did. We had the privilege to have Jamie and Lin as our tour guides. They are both locals and so knowledgeable about their Island. We not only loved witnessing such a diverse landscape but also hearing about all of the rich history the road to Hana had to offer. We truly enjoyed all the stops and the delicious lunch that was provided. It was a very long day so prepared for that, but it is so worth it. Thank you Mahalo Tours

Awesome family excursion Everyone in my family, 8 of us, agreed that this was one of our favorite experiences while on vacation here in Maui. Every stop we made was awesome. Our favorites were swimming in the waterfalls, eating banana bread at aunty Sandy’s, eating lunch at Koki beach (lunch was good!), swimming again at black sand beach and just looking at the amazing scenery the Road to Hana had to offer. We wouldn’t have enjoyed this experience immensely without our guide Cody! He was very knowledgeable, easy going and took very good care of us all throughout the day. I would recommend this tour and this company 100% to anyone wanting to experience the Road to Hana.

Favorite tour!!! I can not recommend this tour enough!! All of the staff was very nice and helpful! Our driver that shuttled us from our resort, Charlie was awesome! Road to Hana with Mahalo tours is a must due, and Kobi is the best guide. Kobi was an awesome tour guide. We did the Road to Hana with Kobi on 6/26/22. We had a family of 8, so we took up the entire van and had an age spread from 8 to 80. Kobi was so knowledgeable about the island, the history of the road, Maui and the rest of the islands. He shares so much information with us. He was kind, polite, safety conscious, and an all around an awesome dude. I give Kobi FIVE SOLID SHAKAs. Mahalo to our new Ohana in Maui.

Amazing tour with a surprise ending I went to Maui for the day with my boyfriend just to share the Road to Hana experience with him. It started with our wonderful tour guide, Justin, to a small group of 8. Everyone had an extra seat in a van with nice cold a/c. All the reviews share similar pictures and stops along the route. What made it different was our professional and knowledgeable driver. I have visited Maui (3xs) and Oahu (15xs) having been on many excursions with friends and family. He was patient - clear on the time for each stop but didn't rush. People asked him a lot of questions which he answered. The ride was very smooth because he was very mindful of the other cars.

Now for the surprise ending... Justin without any advance planning helped my boyfriend propose to me during the tour. I don't know of any other driver from any other tour company who could excel at his job on top of helping making the most memorable experience of my life. Thank you Mahalo Tours and Justin.

Mahalo Tour and Transportation review We loved the fact that the tour began with the promptness of our AM pick-up. Taylor, our driver, was welcoming and very personable from the get-go. The weather cooperated which made the day all-the-better.

Taylor was an absolute panic with his personal stories and insights!!! He was also very knowledgeable on the flora and fauna and its many uses(we had a bunch of gardeners among the group - myself included). Taylor made sure that everyone was comfortable and well hydrated and fed throughout the day. If you went away hungry, it was your own fault:) Hot lunch was delicious and again, we loved the attention to detail and attentiveness. We saw other tour companies offer a hoagie and then, send the passenger on their way. Everyone liked the fact that Taylor was an "involved" guide: always offering to take pictures, eating lunch with the group, making sure were we safe while walking in certain areas, and engaging with our 19-year-old twins. (Ellen want to thank Taylor for the coconut pie recommendation)

I would strongly recommend this tour company. They offer both the Aloha and Ohana spirit!!! Should we return to Maui (and it is my hope), I would not hesitate to book a tour with them again.

If you only have time for one adventure in Maui, MAKE IT THIS ONE! Our family can't say enough fantastic things about this experience. We have been on several tours in Hawaii and Europe. Trust me when I say this one was different.

It started with a conversation with Charles while researching which Hana tour we wanted to experience. Unfortunately, at the time, they were booked. However, Charles was excellent, had great things to say about his competitors, and gave a few recommendations. He put us on the waitlist, and we are glad we could get in.

Our guides for this adventure were Louie and Taylor. Louie has been a long-time traveler on the Road to Hana (over a decade), and Taylor is a born and raised Hawaiian with deep family ties to the island and culture. However to us, we consider them family at this point. My niece was even calling them Uncle Louie and Kuya by the time we hit the black sand beach.

These fantastic men not only shared the facts about the road and its foliage; They shared their stories, the culture, and all the blessings that the road has to offer. Trust me when I say BLESSINGS; I mean it. However, you'll have to take the tour to understand the true meaning of the word because it's not what you think.

I'd love to go into detail about the waterfalls, fantastic food (get the Hule Hule Chicken), and many experiences the road offers, but I'm sure you've already learned about these during your research. However, In the essence of time and saving you a novel's worth of reading, allow me to simply say, book this tour with this team. You won't regret it, not even an instance.

Our group of 5 did the Road to Hana tour this week. We are still buzzing with the excitement from our day! Our guide Lenny was THE BEST! From start to finish, he was informative, entertaining, helpful and just an overall awesome human being. He arrived promptly for pickup, and as promised, everyone got a window seat (not true for all tours we saw). He had numerous, clean bathroom stops for us, that was never an issue. He was genuinely concerned for our motion sick prone teenager and pointed out the best spot for her to sit. He checked on passengers comfort often, which was much appreciated. We saw turtles, swam at a waterfall, swam at the black sand beach, walked through bamboo, walked up to amazing lookouts, made a farm stand stop, and so much more! We had an amazing lunch of Uncle Russell's Huli Huli chicken (not soggy sandwiches, like other tours). Seriously, in addition to totally enjoying our day, I think we all came away better people for having met Lenny, and learning about Hawaiian history, the local people, and life in Hana. Lenny gets an 11/10, and Mahalo Tours is the company to book!

Great experience with Mahalo Tours One of the highlights of our trip to Maui was a RTH tour through Mahalo tours. Lenny was our tour guide and helped make it a great day. He was prompt in picking up our group of 9, but laid back and gave us the time we needed at each stop. He showed up some cool things like the lava tube cave, bamboo forest and waterfall (where he led the group on jumps). He is a hawaiian native and shared fun stories about his life on the islands. He kept us laughing and engaged. Lenny took great care of us and watched out for our safety, even taking a machete into the bamboo forest (in case of pigs...lol) and to make us bamboo straws for a coconut he found for us. I was impressed with how he did not suggest or hint around for a tip at the end, of course we took care of him, as he certainly earned it. Highly recommend Mahalo tours and Lenny as a guide. Ronda in the office was also very friendly and helpful. All made you feel like family.

My husband and I had originally planned to drive The Road to Hana. I'm so happy we booked the tour instead. We were both able to enjoy the ride and beautiful scenery. The road requires so much attention the driver is not able to safely look around especially with narrow roads and one lane bridges. I booked it with only 2 day's notice. There were only 8 of us on the tour. The driver Zachary was great! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Maui, and the trees, flowers, and vegetation. He answered all my questions without hesitation. He was funny and easy going. We were provided banana bread, fresh fruits, chips, water, and a generously portioned, delicious hot meal from a local vendor. Although the stops are timed it was plenty of time for us to swim a bit, walk around and take pictures at each listed stop. I was a little scared after reading some of the one star reviews but I'm elated to say our experience was nothing like those. It was awesome and absolutely recommend the Road to Hana to anyone that asks. A big thank you to Zach for a great ride and thank God for Maui, such a beautiful creation!

Awesome! Lenny our tour guide was awesome. He should us great places. He was great at showing us spectacular spots that we would not have seen if we had drove ourselves.

Amazing company This company is absolutely FANTASIC! Rhonda( agent), Rob(Guide), &Charlie(GoPro) were great! Our cruise was canceled 4 times. We booked, canceled, and rebooted every time. Rhonda was a pleasure every time we called and helped with scheduling and refunds. Rob was our tour guide. He was extremely friend and knowledgeable. He was a blast to hang out with all day and even helped me climb one of the waterfalls to jump off! I left my gopro in the van . I called Rob and Rhonda after hours on a weekend. BOTH called me back and Charlie brought it an hour away to me and wouldn't accept a tip for his time. I can not say enough good things about this group of people and their work ethic. This is the tour group you want to book with. You won't be disappointed.

We Love Auntie Jamie During our Hana tour, Jaime showed us all of the cool spots to see when they were the least crowded. We avoided big crowds and got to see everything we had hoped to! The best part was seeing things no one else would know about on their own. Jaime shared tons of cool information about Hawaii and personal stories that were really entertaining, too. And as a family of 5, it was nice that she knew where all of the bathroom stops were, as well (lol)! If we come back to Maui, we would definitely to do the tour with her again! Her aloha spirit rubbed off on us and we hope we can bring it back to PA 🙂

Road to Hana We got to see so many different elements of the culture of Maui Lenny was a wonderful tour Guide he took such good care of us.He was able to answer our questions and told us stories about Maui. He was helpful, friendly and funny!

Hana heaven Our Road to Hana tour was the highlight of our trip to Maui. Our driver and guide Rob was knowledgeable about all the key stops, and continually pointed out interesting trees, flora and fauna along the way. We made at least 12 stops including a natural pool with waterfall to swim, Half Way to Hana for banana bread and pineapple smoothies, Uncle Russell’s, red sand beach, black sand beach and various lookout points. Pick up and drop off at our hotel was easy. Plan for a 10 hour day. Hot plate Hulu Hulu chicken lunch at Uncle Russel’s was a great differentiation from other similar guided tours. Plenty of water, fruit and snack provided along the way. Would highly recommend this experience.

Catch the Louis express to Hana Our guide Louis was colorful and entertaining. His appreciation for Hawaiian culture and his knowledge and respect for the Hawaiian environment was evident. He was attentive to our needs and pointed out many interesting features. He added greatly to the enjoyment of the trip. I’m glad he was driving.
